The honest take

What works well

• Cross-tool search is genuinely powerful when you have multiple connectors set up. It’s solving a real problem — information scattered across tools.
• Result synthesis is useful — Claude doesn’t just list search results, it compiles them into a coherent answer.

What doesn’t work as well

• Only searches tools you’ve connected via MCP. If key information lives in a tool without a connector, there’s a blind spot.
• Search quality depends on how well each connector indexes content. Some connectors have better search than others.
• For very large result sets, Claude may summarise rather than list every result. If you need exhaustive results, narrow your query.

Who it’s best for: Operators working across many tools who frequently need to find information that spans email, chat, docs, and project management. Most valuable in teams where communication is spread across multiple platforms.
